LVSA NextStep Event 2016

nextstep-lv-sports“Tough Love” 2016 Supports Local Charity
Las Vegas, NV. October 9, 2016 – The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) held their 4th annual charity event called “Tough Love Fitness.”  Super Trainer Steve Maresca led the “Team LVSA” class through a modified “cross-yoga-stretch-fit” workout.

The event raised funds for NextStep Fitness which assists persons living with paralysis and other physical disabilities.  NextStep in turn provided a donation check to the Paralympic Sport Club of Las Vegas.

Event Co-Chair Nicole Halverson, Spa Director from The Mirage recruited participants from LVSA member vendors and spas.

The 50 minute energy charged class event took place outside at the South Point Casino and Spa pool area and TEAM LVSA raised over $4000. The event was sponsored by The Dumbell Man Fitness Equipment.For more information on NextStep please visit: www.nextstepfitness.org

LVSA 2016 Spa Survey

Las Vegas, NV. September 7, 2016 – The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) will hold the 7th Annual LVSA Spa Survey on Friday, October 7th, 2016 at the Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas.

LVSA Board Member and Elle Concepts founder Liz Lesser and her team will compile the stats for the LVSA spa members. Senior Director of Spa and Wellness Jennifer Lynn will host the morning event at the MOLV.  The event will be sponsored by Spa Development International.

According to the Las Vegas Visitors and Convention Authority, 2016 is trending positive with increases in visitors, occupancy and revenue. The resort hotel spa setting in Las Vegas has unparalleled opportunities for staff and guests. Spa visitors can expect to have an experience that utilizes the newest products and services in the industry in the largest spas in the world. Spa operators help meet this challenge by exchanging information with each other at the annual LVSA Survey “round table.”

The Survey has become an important part in the improved operations for over 30 Las Vegas area resort spa locations. Spa directors in Las Vegas work in a collaborative effort, sharing best practices with the goal of creating the best spa experience possible at each member location.

Super Excited “TEAM” hikes again!

Las Vegas, NV. March 6, 2016 – On this Sunday morning there was rain and wind but it did not deter “Team LVSA” at the Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) 6th annual “Cancer Climb.” Members of the team were loaded onto vans and transported up the mountain to Red Rock Canyon. After a few clouds passed the sun greeted participants to a perfect day.

This highly anticipated annual LVSA event raised proceeds to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) which improves the quality of life of patients and their families. Event Co-Chair Nicole Halverson, Director of Spa & Salon at the Mirage led 40 hikers young and old along the 50 minute “climb”.

The post hike party was highlighted by CoCo Taps refreshments and numerous raffle prizes for the lucky winners in attendance. LVSA Board member, Michelle Wilkos stated, “This was our biggest event ever. We had spas, vendors, family and friends. What a great day, great event and great cause.”

The event raised over $4000 and still counting.
