“Tough Love Fitness” 2018 Supports NextStep Again

Las Vegas, NV. October 7, 2018 – The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) held their 6th annual charity event called “Tough Love Fitness.”  This year the “Team LVSA” class participated in the debut of the “GOAT WINE YOGA” workout with Super Yogi and Soul Medicine Woman Nikka Karli.

The event raised funds for NextStep Fitness which assists persons living with paralysis and other physical disabilities. Janne Kouri, the founder of NextStep, feeding a goat and holding a microphone said, “We are extremely grateful for the support from the LVSA and excited to announce NextStep has plans to open in Las Vegas this year!”

Event Co-Chair Kim Fischer helped organize the event with participants from LVSA member vendors, spas and families. The 45-minute mind body charged class took place outside at the South Point Resort pool area and was sponsored by The Dumbell Man Fitness Equipment.

The class was a huge success with baby goats thanks to Community Outreach Director Kate Wind. The Fit Vine wine reception and raffle prizes donated by participating LVSA vendors completed the fantastic day.

Another Successful Climb

“Team LVSA” at the Red Rock 2018 Canyon Cancer Climb.

Las Vegas, NV. March 25, 2018 – “Team LVSA” was hiking again at the Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) 8th annual “Cancer Climb.” Members of the team were led by Honorary Hike Leaders Michelle Wilkos and Kim Fischer.  The hikers were loaded onto vans and transported by “Team Strunk” to Red Rock Canyon.

The 2018 Climb was sponsored by LVSA vendor members; Hemp Hydr8, Knesko, Urbana, RX|Clinical and The Dumbell Man.  Proceeds benefited the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).  LLS Woman of the Year Deirdre Strunk was excited, “We had our biggest turnout, best weather and largest amount of donations.  It was an awesome event!”

The post hike party was highlighted by a number of passionate speeches and numerous raffle prizes provided by select LVSA vendor members. LVSA Board member, Liz Lesser stated, “We had great vendor turnout and support.  We truly appreciate our vendor partners helping us help the community of Las Vegas.

2017 LVSA Awards

Las Vegas, NV, December 18, 2017 – The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) celebrated a 15th Anniversary at their yearend Awards Night at the Sayers Club at the SLS Las Vegas home of the Away Spa at the W Hotel.

 

Deeba Haq from the Mandalay Bay & Delano was the winner for Spa Director of the Year for her leadership and tireless efforts. She held her team together through numerous challenges in 2017. In addition to her award she was presented with two signed banners from the LVSA membership to present to her spa staff in support of #VEGASSTRONG

Jessica Catanzaro was presented with the Bill Ochoa Humanitarian Award for her support of the LVSA and co-chairing both the Cancer Climb for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the “Tough Love” exercise class benefiting NextStep Fitness.

Telli Industries won the vendor Award for Outstanding Member. “Team Telli” was honored for her long time support of the LVSA and member spas.

The tandem of AJ Palma & Terri Hovanec from Sahra Spa at The Cosmopolitan we named co-winners of the 2017 Spa Professional Award. The pair was named for the seamless management style and customer dedication. Each has been a longtime supporter of the LVSA.

Niko Siton from Mandarin Oriental was named the winner of the Spa Manager Dedication Award for his constant support and attendance at LVSA events. He was also lauded in recognition for his workplace support of his peers.

Las Vegas, NV. November 19, 2017 – The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) held their 5th annual charity event called “Tough Love Fitness.”  This year “Team LVSA” class participated in a “boot camp” workout with SuperSub Robert Rose who filled in for Steve Maresca.

The event raised funds for NextStep Fitness which assists persons living with paralysis and other physical disabilities.  Janne Kouri, the founder of NextStep said “We are extremely grateful for the support and we look forward to bigger class next year.”
