
LVSA Fitness Hike For Charity
Las Vegas, NV. March 24, 2013 - The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) held their 3rd annual charity event called the "Cancer Climb." Members of "Team LVSA" climbed rocks and dirt on all fours at Red Rock Canyon in a new scramble format. The fitness hike provided a fun and challenging morning that peaked at near 5000 feet above Las Vegas.
The event raised awareness and provided proceeds to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Once again Spa Director Deirdre Struck drove the show and the van to get the hikers moving, "Another great effort from TEAM LVSA, a great time and a great cause, it was perfect." Team LVSA has helped the Las Vegas Spa Association donate to a variety of local charities since 2002.

LVSA Members at Season 4 a Cure
Las Vegas, NV. October 6, 2012 – "Team LVSA" represented the Las Vegas Spa Association at the 13th annual Season 4 a Cure 5k Run/Walk. The Team contributed over $4000 in donations in their second year at the event.
Team LVSA was joined by runners from the Blind Center of Nevada participating in their first 5K run. Stephanie Doud, LVSA Board Member and Team Captain stated; "I am extremely pleased. We exceeded our goal for participants and fund raising. It was a great race and a great time!"
All proceeds benefited the Nevada Cancer Institute (NCI) in Las Vegas. "Team LVSA" has helped the Las Vegas Spa Association donate to local charities like NCI since 2002.

Las Vegas, NV. March 25, 2012 - The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) held their 2nd annual charity event called the "Cancer Climb." Members of "Team LVSA" participated in the climb at Red Rock Canyon. The event raised awareness and provided proceeds to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Spa Director Deirdre Struck is leading the way in her effort to raise donations in her husband's name. Donnie Struck has been diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia; "I can not thank the Association for the love and support we have felt over the years. This has been such a challenging battle that we are determined to win. That's why this climb and our marathon are so important! Let's give cancer the boot!"

LVSA Members at Season 4 A Cure
Las Vegas, NV. October 2, 2011 - The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) recently participated in the 12th annual Season 4 a Cure 5k Run/Walk. The "Team LVSA" contributed over $1,000 in donations in their first year at the event.
All proceeds benefited the Nevada Cancer Institute (NCI) in Las Vegas. Michael Garvey, LVSA President stated; "Our Team was small this year, but we are committed to helping NCI and I know we will get more members walking and running next year."

LVSA Members Hike for Charity
Las Vegas, NV. March 27, 2011 – The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) recently created a new local charity event called the “Cancer Climb.” Last year “Team LVSA” participated in the “Climb to Conquer Cancer in Ivins, Utah.
The new event will keep the LVSA on a local hike in Red Rock Canyon. All proceeds will benefit the Nevada Cancer Institute (NCI) in Las Vegas. Jennifer Lynn, LVSA Board Chair stated; “Our Team loved going to Utah but the event was cancelled. We decided to start our own annual hike here in Las Vegas and we are proud to again support the NCI.”

LVSA Supports YMCA
Las Vegas, NV. May 6, 2010 - The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) presented a donation to YMCA of Southern Nevada at the Spring Spa Director’s Social. The proceeds will benefit the YMCA “Strong Kids Campaign.”
Jennifer Lynn, LVSA Board Chair stated; “The Association is proud to help great organizations like the YMCA and support efforts help build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.” The Social was hosted by the Hard Rock Hotel at the new Reliquary Spa.
In addition to the YMCA, the LVSA has supported numerous charities including the Nevada Cancer Institute, American Cancer Society and The Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.

LVSA Members Help Fight Cancer
Las Vegas, NV. March 15, 2010 - The Team from the Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) recently participated in the 2nd annual Climb to Conquer Cancer. Sponsored team members set off from Red Mountain Spa in Ivins, Utah for a 6 mile climb in Snow Canyon State Park. All proceeds raised benefited the American Cancer Society.
Mindy Terry, LVSA Board Member stated; “The LVSA is proud to be committed to helping the American Cancer Society and the Climb is a great way to do it. This was a beautiful event and we love to be a part of it. Thank you to all the members who represented Team LVSA!”
Captain Rebecca Hellman and Team LVSA were recognized for being the top fund raiser at the event. Donations this year topped $10,000.

LVSA Sponsors Luncheon
Las Vegas, NV, September 25, 2006 - The Las Vegas Spa Association recently sponsored a luncheon at the Nevada Cancer Institute (NVCI). The LVSA Board has committed to supporting the NVCI with a donation for the upcoming fundraising benefit "Bond for the Cure" on November 16th.
The NVCI is a comprehensive cancer research institute, staffed by the finest scientists, clinicians, educators and caregivers. Michael Garvey, President of LVSA stated, “The NVCI is committed to helping the community, state and cancer patients everywhere. The LVSA hopes to be part of that commitment.”

LVSA Donates to NV State Board
Las Vegas, NV, May 15, 2006 - The Las Spa Association donated $500 to spearhead a drive to raise founds for the newly formed Nevada State Board of Massage Therapy.
The Board is raising funds to provide for the health, welfare, and safety of the residents of this state. The creation of this Board and the funds raised will benefit both organizations in the execution of their visions.

LVSA supports City of Hope
The Las Vegas Spa Association contributed several items to the City of Hope Medical Center’s Silent Auction. Special thanks to LVSA members Ritz Carlton Lake Las Vegas, Spa Bellagio, Gary Levulett Sales, Mindy Terry and The Dumbell Man Fitness Equipment.
